As a general rule, I don't keep up with video games. Weird, I know. I prefer to not know about them until they come out in most cases. Of course, some stuff is so super-hyped that you can't avoid hearing about it. Rock Band and Gears of War 2 are good examples of this. I do get EGM every month, but I don't ever read it. I don't even remember how I ended up getting a subscription to it, honestly. I have 11 issues sitting next to my bed (6 of them have never been so much as opened. The other 5 have been browsed at bit.)

EGM is how I found out about Prototype, which looks like an awesome game. Not sure if it's ever coming out, but maybe. I haven't heard a damn thing about it since I read it in EGM sometime last year.

Anyway, a video game loving friend of mine asked me today if I'd played Army of Two yet. My answer was no. I didn't even hear about this game until two days ago. First, his response was shock that I hadn't heard about it until after it was out. Second, he said to me, "Good. The game is utter shit. You didn't spend months waiting for it at least." Apparently, Army of Two was hyped quite a lot. I suppose I could read reviews... but the thing about this is that, with the exception of the Final Fantasy games, I usually think he's right on about video games. There's probably no point in me reading reviews.

But that's why I dont like knowing about games in advance. They end up sucking and I'm disappointed. Or, even worse, they never come out. (Much like it looks like will happen to Marvel Universe Online. That's half the reason I got a 360. Luckily, Gears of War, Forza 2 and Rock Band all make up for there not being a Marvel Online.)

In other news, I now have aheadache and feel kind of dizzy and spinny. I figured out creative stuff to do, but I don't think I can focus well enough to do it now. Maybe I'll go finish watching my Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD and start that Tragedy and Triumph of WCCW one I bought. I'm such a loser. I don't even watch wrestling anymore, yet I'll buy any Wrestling DVD that comes out and looks even remotely interesting. Life and Times of Mr. Perfect is supposed to be coming out sometime this year. You know I'm totally getting that one. Speaking of WCCW... I don't know how in depth they get on the Von Erichs (I'd magine they'd have to get pretty in depth, considering David and Kerry and, to a lesser extent, Kevin are what kept the promotion alive.) ... and it's probably their feud with the Fabulous Freebirds that was the biggest draw. You could probably a do a whole DVD on the Von Erichs/Freebird feud, honestly.

And that's that. I started this entry 12+ hours ago but managed to fall asleep, among other things. So, I shall post it now... though I did have more to say, I don't feel like saying it.

The WCCW DVD is okay, but Kevin Von Erich was a major part of putting it together. It's about as honest as most WWE DVD documentaries - honest 90% of the time, 10% huge lies (but huge lies that you will believe because they're so honest the rest of the time). Like when they said Kerry Von Erich was going to go to the Olympics for discus (no), or on the Pillman DVD when they said he took all kinds of drugs (yes) but never steroids (bullshit).

Also, the video doesn't touch on the deaths of lots of other WCCW guys - Adams, Brody, Gordy, Rude. Just the Von Erichs and Gino Hernandez.

There was an independent video made a few years ago: http://www.amazon.com/Heroes-World-Class-Wrestling-Harrison/dp/B000I2JDD0/ - I hear that it and the WWE WCCW DVDs work really well together for filling in each others' blanks, but I haven't watched this one yet.

I figured. I must have missed the Pillman DVD. I didn't even know about it until... umm... right now. I was never a very big Pillman fan, though. (To the point where I probably would have believed the thing about Steroids. I don't recall him looking like he was on roids... but, as I said, I wasn't a big fan.)

Now I just have to figure out where I put the WCCW DVD.
